About Ruchi Gupta

Ruchi Gupta embodies Bharatanatyam as performer, teacher, and cultural ambassador. Her path is rooted in tradition and refined through rigorous training and decades of practice.

Training & lineage

She trained in the Pandanallur bani under Guru Smt. Sujata Dinesh at Rukmini Devi Lalit Kala Kendra, and in the Thanjavur bani under Padmabhushan Dr. Saroja Vaidyanathan. She completed her Arangetram in 2005 and received further training under Guru Kiron Subramanium in Bangalore. Mridangam under Guru K.N. Padmanabhan deepened her sense of rhythm and continues to inform her dance.

Scholar & artist

She holds a Post Graduation in Bharatanatyam and Carnatic Music from Indira Kala Sangit Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh, and has been awarded a Junior Research Fellowship by the Ministry of Culture (CCRT). She is empanelled with UNESCO, CCRT, and ABHAI, and is a graded artist of Doordarshan.

Today

Based in Delhi, she directs Kirti Natya Niketan, mentors students to Arangetram and beyond, and represents Indian classical dance at national and international platforms. Her work remains dedicated to preserving the art form and nurturing the next generation.
